Spring 2015

Our warmest wishes to our chilly fashionistas in the northeast of the U.S. You drink some warm beverage and day dream of a sunny beach, we'll provide you with some spring trends that might get you excited for the warmer weather!

All white outfits

This spring can be a fresh slate. Why not make it a clean slate for your wardrobe too? All white can be dangerous for the messy diva but it is perfect for spring this year.

Yellow
Bring out that yellow! Perfect for a sunny afternoon, yellow is a fun, bold color for spring. Add a pop of color with a yellow item in your spring outfits! You'll look as sunny as a sunshine day!

Gingham

Gingham, a classic is making its way back into our list of trends. Worn very chic like in the picture above. Add some gingham to your look for a great spring 2015 look. *NOTE: plaid and gingham are NOT the same thing*

Shirtdresses

These are probably my favorite trend of spring. They are so casual but cute at the same time! They are also perfect if you want to look fabulous but you're running a bit late in the morning. Just pick a color and you're ready to go!

These are just a few of the trends coming up this spring! Hopefully these made you think of some warm destinations to wear some cute spring outfits!
Stay warm!

Fanny Friday

Yes you read that correct.
The fanny pack is back.
And yes you read that correct too.

The fanny pack has made it's comeback for this spring and summer 2015 season.  Most of the interest came to the fanny pack when actor Jared Leto was seen with one.
He's selling some for $35 if you want his brand. Most people started noticing the fanny pack with Jared's pic but many fashionistas saw this pack on its way back. Many designers included this sporty pack in their spring collections.
(And considering this spring is way more sportier than other seasons I think it's fitting.) But other designers like Chanel and Alexander Wang were ahead of the curb (not surprised at all) and introduced the fanny pack to their fall 2014 collections.
Many celebrities have been spotted joining the fanny pack crew like Leo and Nicole.
So if the fanny pack is for you there are tons of options to choose from. If you're a stylish mf who don't have time for trashy fanny packs try the Chanel pack from her fall collection or this pack that somehow costs over $1,000.
Wanting a fanny pack just for the party? I got you! Try a neon or fun print! No party is a good party without some sick sick fanny packs.
So fanny packs?
Not gonna lie they are kind of like relatives. You're excited maybe a little comforted to see them but they can't stay too long otherwise they drive you completely nuts. So fanny pack enthusiasts enjoy it while it's in, because before you know it it'll be out.
XOXO,
S

Golden Globes

So the Golden Globes was on Sunday and it wasn't too bad of a show. With Amy and Tina as hosts it made the show just a smidge less of a snooze-fest. But we aren't here to talk about the awards, for us it's all about the fashion! So let's starts off with some fab divas that totally owned the night.

Giuliana Rancic looked like a princess in this gorgeous Maria Lucia Hohan mermaid gown with a precious sweetheart neckline. Honestly I think she was under appreciated for the gorgeous look in other's reports of the night. Giuliana received criticism for some because of her slim figure, calling her "skin and bones." I think she looked absolutely fabulous and should be proud of her body no matter what size it is.

So let's talk about this gorgeous newbie to the Globes. Jane the Virgin star, Gina Rodriguez won a Golden Globe for CW's hit new TV show Jane the Virgin. She looked perfect with her LBD with a twist. The lace at the bottom adds a fun touch to a classic that never goes out of style.

Amy Adams channeled her inner cinderella with this gorgeous powder blue Versace gown. This silhouette looks gorgeous for her figure and the ruching on the top looks absolutely perfect! Amy also went vintage with some gorgeous old Hollywood curls!

Jennifer Lopez looked fantastic. Killin' it with a  Zuhair Murad gown complete with plunging neckline, embellished detailing, and a cape. JLO looked so sexy for the globes, everyone seemed to notice. When she was presenting with Jeremy Renner when he commented about her "two golden globes." I don't think JLO should be embarrassed! Girl if you got it, work it!

Kevin Hart walked the red carpet with his lovely fiancĂ©. And wow! Are they not a fierce couple or what? I had to give Kevin a shoutout for his killer suit! Staying fairly traditional with the black jacket, bow tie, and pant, but still dressing it up with that great white lining. Kevin proves that "small" details can make a huge difference.

Now that you've seen the oh so fab stars, let's see the ones that deserve the "you tried" sticker.

These two hosts were perfect for hosting, but for fashion? Amy looked great with her Cobalt blue gown. The ruching near her waist can be dangerous for some figures, but Amy looked great! Now Tina on the other hand... Don't get me wrong I love half of her dress. The gorgeous beading and black/white contrast was absolutely stunning. The bottom is where it got rough. The baggy "half filled balloon" look did not flatter her figure and almost made her look larger. The length didn't help the look either, drawing more attention to her lower half. Tina, don't get too crazy with it,sometimes less is more.

50 shades of grey star, Dakota Johnson didn't look so hot the other night. Now, we love the silhouette on her. Perfect for her figure and the tiny train in the back was gorgeous for the occasion. Dakota should take my advice that I gave to Tina, less is more. These sequins are overwhelming! And the disco ball look does NOT make you the life of the party. Yes, sequin embellishing can make your dress look gorgeous. But too much can make your dress look like a 12 year old's dream.

Okay this one is hard because I really do love Lana Del Rey, but this gown was just a nope for me. The color looked great on her and made her stand out from the sea of red and black. The silhouette did nothing however for her figure which is quite a shame. The pleating running down her gown made her silhouette look larger than it actually is and did not flatter at all. The deep neckline didn't disappoint, and was almost the silver lining to her gown.

Amanda Peet definitely went for the boho flowy vibe and yes that look does look great. But the occasion? Not the best gown for the Globes. The loose fit dress compared to the tight fitting and slandering dresses of others makes this one look baggy and sloppy. The color is gorgeous and the dress itself isn't a bad dress. It just reveals no shape in Amanda at all. The sheer detail and the deep neckline might have bumped this gown go decent for Globes.

So globes this year was all about deep necklines, slender dresses, and gorgeous (not overwhelming) embellishments!
Tell us what you think! Great looks or total flops?

7 signs it's time to call it quits

7 signs it's time to call it quits

We get it. Sometimes you don't have time to shop until late at night. But often store employees find themselves waiting long after they have closed to actually close up shop. So if you don't notice the signs already, here are some signs to knowing that the store is closing and you should wrap up your trip.

Salespeople keep talking to you
Most sales associates try to be nice while also getting you out at a reasonable time. If you are still browsing with ten minutes or less until closing, you are bound to get the "you still doing okay?" That's a sign that maybe you should check the time and getting moving.

They turn the music off
Most stores turn off their music about closing time if not a little before. Shopping music is mostly white noise until it's gone. Then it's super awkward. The silence is a sign to hurry it up because the employees want to go home too. And no turning off the music is not to please you if you don't like it. The employees would have done that before for their own sake.

They start cleaning
Now they aren't going to start mopping or vacuuming. But they will probably start cleaning mirrors or do small chores, hoping you'll get the hint. That and they can get their chores done faster. When you see them whip out the cleaning supplies check the clock or ask what time they close.

They announce their closing

Bigger stores make it easier for customers by announcing, " we are closing in 20 minutes so hurry up." But smaller stores often don't tell the customer to avoid being rude. When working at the mall, we would get yelled at for telling customers it was time to go. It depends on the store if you get an FYI on the time. Just be aware before you go in.

They lock you in
Obviously not forever. But stores after they close will lock the doors so that no other customers come in. If you are inside you don't have to freak and hurry out. Just continue on in your shopping just at a brisk pace.

They turn the lights off

Not all of the lights of course. If some of the lights have turned off then you know you have been in that store way too late. Most stores stall/clean until you are ready, but if they have done that and turned off part of the lights, gah damn. Girl, you best hurry because those employees want to go grab some food and you are delaying them.

They start ringing up your already picked out purchases

Obviously they are trying to hurry you up. If you still need to shop around go for it. Them and your pile won't be going anywhere. Just know that your total of $100 bucks will be waiting for you and you better not decide to put it all back and leave. Or we will judge you forever. :)

Now, we get it. You're life is crazy. You have work, kids, other issues, but so do the employees of that store. It's fine to be a late night shopper, just be aware of the time and your cleanliness (because that tee you threw on the table has to be folded by someone.)

Goodnight Night Fashionistas!

No more Hoodlums?

Hoodies have always been a classic addition to anyone's wardrobe. Everyone's worn one at least once in their lifetime. Whether it's a daily addition to your ensemble or it's strictly for the gym the hoodie always seems to make it's way into our lives. But maybe not anymore for Oklahomians? (Is that what they are called?)

A new bill is stirring up drama in Oklahoma as it tries to ban residents from wearing hoodies in public. If you were to wear it anyways and get caught it would be a $500 misdemeanor! There are some exceptions though including "religious garments, weather protection, safety or medical purposes, parades, Halloween celebrations, masquerade parties, "minstrel troupes," circuses, sporting groups, mascots or "other amusements or dramatic shows." The supporters of the bill think that this will reduce crime in the state. I don't know about that but for me I couldn't live without a few hoodies on a lazy day!
And a few other celebrities would agree!
I mean what would they wear to the grocery store? What would I wear to the grocery store?
Good luck oklahoma fashionistas!

Ringing in the New Year

We welcomed 2015 last night with glitter, noisemakers, and many glasses of bubbly. But today lets see how the rich and the famous spent their last hours of 2014.
This stylish power couple, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick shared a NYE kiss looking top notch. Kourtney, rocking a black sequin number which was perfect for the occasion. Scott sporting a dapper bow tie and tux.

Mariah Carey celebrated New Year's Eve wearing a number only Mariah could kill. This slimming white dress has incredible detailing along with it's plunging neckline. Making this a diva perfect outfit for a perfect diva.

Ashley Tisdale bundled up with family as she went sledding. Still looking fashionable, she rocks some Dior snow boots and a fuzzy hat. Perfect for a snowy day!
Jessica Alba was a gorgeous beach babe this NYE, rocking a white lacy number perfect for any beach party. Jessica rang in the new year with family and friends while still having that island vibe that us mere mortals dream of.
Selena Gomez turned heads with her NYE dress. Complete with plunging neckline and sequins galore. The iconic outfit for a NYE party.
Although Britney's look wasn't normally a NYE look, we loved her headband braid! Her shirt both festive and promotional was great for NYE!
Pretty Little Liar's Shay and Lucy celebrated with groups of friends and looked like they had an absolute blast. Shay, with a deep v-neck and gorgeous beadwork. While Lucy rocked a casual look with a sweater and a floppy hat.
Katy Perry and Rita Ora celebrated in style this NYE. Katy wearing a colorful shiny dress. So Katy! And Rita sporting another plunging neckline, complete with tons of sequins and a fun headpiece.

Hopefully the hangovers are fading away so you can truly enjoy your first day of 2015!
Until then,
Happy new year!
XOXO,
